
On March 31, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg updated its list of occupations facing severe shortages. The authorities have identified 22 sectors where Luxembourg employers are struggling to recruit.聽
These sectors cover a wide range of fields:

- Engineering/R&D/Industry: industrial project manager, industrial chemical engineer, industrial maintenance mechanic...

- Legal: legal advisor, lawyer, tax specialist, head of legal department...
- IT: server administrator, cloud architect, penetration testing expert...
- Railway transport: rail traffic controller, railway network switch operator, station manager...
The 2025 list highlights five new professions facing shortages: auto body repairer, rail traffic controller, management consultant, aircraft maintenance technician, and industrial mechanical maintenance technician.
Meanwhile, seven professional fields that were included in the 2024 list have been removed this year: psychology, IT consulting, roofing installation, operational equipment maintenance, financial market management, human resources development, and production engineering.
