Life in Dubai?

AnneTylor

Hey everyone, I'm moving to UAE soon for 1 year contract but I'll have to work on my pc for some of the time, so I have few techie questions related to that as it's my first time visiting the UAE and I don't really know what to expect.

As far as I know it's pretty strict situation over there with accessing popular websites and Apps and will need those apps on pretty much a daily basis and for my work. So I googled a little and found out that such thing as VPN should help to overcome those restrictions, though has anyone has any experience with that? my colleagues in UAE suggest me to subscribe for NordVPN on this website [link moderated] since it works perfectly.
Do I need any other apps that would help me while working there?
Also what about the wifi spots? I assume most of the coffee shops should have wifi as same as most of the countries, right?

Thanks for your help!

We have had many discussions on VPNs in the past.  See here:

And yes, most coffee places have Wifi for customers.  Don't understand what you mean by other apps - for full accessibility, all you need is a VPN.
