new work permit rules

ddaga1104

Hello,
I work for a large multinational with a base in Kenya and will be applying for a work permit in the coming weeks.
I've been reading a lot about delays and increased scrutiny in work permit processing times under the new administration, does anyone have any insight into how feasible it is to obtain a Class D work permit for a skilled foreign worker these days? Specifically, are the new laws aimed towards protecting unskilled jobs (cooks, waiters, etc) or employees of multinationals like Google as well?

yep, rules r changing rather frequently, but I guess u will get there eventually.

wht i heard though, they r brining in laws that restrict WP extension beyond 2 years, so that locals can get those jobs.

Yeah I read that too.  I'm just curious if they will restrict foreign workers from getting a WP in the first place..

As long as your company will support your application I know you'll get it. Extension is what may be an issue after 2 years  :)
