Post-Covid-19 situation in Mauritius

Mickael

Hello everyone,

The COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact on the world, including on expats' lives. Travel restrictions, business closures, budget cuts, and health measures have created unprecedented challenges for those who have chosen to live in Mauritius.

Now that the pandemic is moderated, expats are adjusting to a new daily routine. So tell us, how is your expat life now:

Are there still any health measures in place in Mauritius? If so, what are they (wearing a mask, barrier measures, etc.)?

Have you noticed any changes in the population's habits or behavior after the pandemic?

What is your new work rhythm: do you still work remotely or are you spending more time in the office?

Have you changed your spending habits? If so, which ones?

Despite this pandemic and its consequences, how do you see your future in Mauritius?

Do you have any advice for other expats and future expats on this new daily life in Mauritius?

Thank you for your contribution.

There are still health measures in place, but generally speaking, no one is really respecting them anymore, as is the case in every countries.

I think there have been changes in the population's habits, as people are more fearful of potential negative health news and are therefore more willing to obey guidelines in the future.

Remote work is being maintained for me, and working part-time from home doesn't really have any impact on the health efforts.

Yes, I have changed my habits, as I followed the scientific guidelines that state a mask should be worn for a maximum of 3 hours. So, with 4 masks per day, I have saved some money that will allow me to try to have the life I had before.

In the future, I see myself in Mauritius, where there will be travel bans and more and more restrictions in various areas. But that's okay; it's the same in every country, and I would prefer to experience these restrictions in Mauritius.

The advice I have to give is to live your life and enjoy every moment because the future is uncertain.

Life has gone back to a new 'normal' in most places across the world. We now use more hand sanitizers, take care about cleanliness, etc. We still wear masks in healthcare settings mainly to make life easier for those who ma be vulnerable. But life goes on regardless.

The tragedy of excess deaths from the ‘vaccines’ is so sad. In Switzerland they are no longer allowed. Soon the truth will come and out and the death toll may become known.

I hope everyone realises the purpose of the ‘pandemic’ now?
