Does anybody knows if I can bring some spices to Mauritius

Hi I am moving to Mauritius next month I would like to take some spices do I have to pay any duty or custom charges

Why do you want to bring spices when you can buy them all on the island

As Barbara said you can buy all your spices here unless it's a rare one maybe?

I have taken spices and curry spice mixes to the UK, in sealed unopened packages in my hold luggage - all with original labels, so I cannot see the problem with spices, now meat is another thing ;(

Thanks I've been to Mauritius before but I can't find Kasmire masala paste and I can't eat any food without the Kasmire   masala

Will keep my eyes open for it when I am in the supermarkets - although I know there are many Masala spice mixes here ;)

I have googled the spice and see it is made up of a lot of different spices which you can get in Mauritius.  You could make your own.

Trust me I've tried to make my own it doesn't taste the same
