Extending tourist visa - return ticket to where?

FranglaiseMummy

Hi everyone,

We may need to extend our tourist visa if our Occupation Permit doesn't come through in time. The site below says we need "Copy of confirmed Return Ticket (Original to be produced)". Does anyone know if that has to be a ticket to the UK or can it be a ticket to La Réunion? My husband and daughters are on French passports whilst I'm on a British passport.

Many thanks in advance,
Sophie

P.S. if anyone has any idea of the time it takes to get an OP and a dependant OP at the moment I'd love to hear that too!

Dear Sophie,
I lived in MU from 2012 to June 2015. I did the procedure a few times, and it generally took 3 weeks.
Yes, the return ticket is to anywhere abroad, so La Réunion satisfies.
Good luck,
Emmanuel

Great, thanks!

Hi Sophie

The process for getting a work permit takes two to three weeks from the date the application is accepted for processing at the BOI in Port Louis.

You need original documents for this, must take your passport and make an appointment to hand the application with you.

They don't like staples!

A flight to La Reunion would be acceptable as it in the EU.

I would recommend that the sooner you start the process, the better.

Bonne chance!

Reunion will be just fine!  :)

Thanks everyone - we've had official confirmation that Réunion is fine now too :-)
