Traveling with Two Passports (Namibian and South African Dual Citizen)

RegfromNam

Good day

I am a Namibian and married to a South African. Since getting married, we reside in Namibia and have a son together who was born in Namibia. Our family therefore resides in Namibia. Our son is registered as a Namibian and we recently obtained his South African Birth Certificate. Therefore he has Dual Namibian and South African Citizenship. He also has a Namibian Passport.

We are in the process of applying for his South African Passport.

When traveling between Namibia and South Africa, which passport of his should be presented at the airline check in counters and at the Namibian and South African Emigration/ Immigration authorities?

Thank you

Hi,

When having to passport and travelling into or out of Namibia use your Namibian passport.
When travelling into or out of South Africa use your South African passport.

It is illegal to use a foreign passport in a country of which you hold citizenship status.
