Marriage and finance

AngelLauren81

Hello, I will be marrying my fiance in January and permanently moving to Tunisia also. Once married, I will open a bank account, probably a foreign and Tunisian account to buy a house for us...... as I want our privacy as newlyweds and don't want to stay on the family compound/ house. My question is if the bank account is in my name only, can my husband access it , or will I need both names on account for him?

Second question has to do with the property. I don't even want to think like this, but in case of divorce, would my husband have a claim or half claim to the property? Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks

Hi,
for the  bank account just  open it alone he  can't  access  it

For  the house , in the contract  of marriage choose the  option of  property separation so any property  acquired  during the marriage ( after divorce   GOD  forbid )  will not be able to claim or  half  claim

don't forget to   use   a trusted   lawyer   from  a  list   provided   from your  embassy

Hope you  long  happy life  in our country
