Blackberry in Shanghai

AmandaBDG

Hello all!
I've been here for a while and my Blackberry is hiccuping. Just today it decided it would allow my Google Maps to function as well as some other applications I had pre-China.
My Blackberry messenger has not functioned once since being here and is making it a bother to get that quick contact needed with the office back home.
I noticed in some forums that there is a data plan available which costs a whopping RMB400/month. Is this the only way to get full data service back up and running again?
Any words of wisdom to offer? Cheers!

hello Amanda,
one of my friend uses Blackmarry, she had the whole system re-installed(with china version), it works, but it is very inconvient, maybe you can buy a new not-so-high-level one for basic use:|
