Hey

Get a long term visa

Not quite the same as the citizenship but after ten years you may ask for permanent residency

It will allow you to understand the country and realise whether it is the right choice you are making

I do not know how old you are but whether it is a French or Greek citizenship, they are quite valuable

Again,

panafran

My name is Francoise, i was born from a french father and lao mother, i was adopted at the age of 6 and moved to France where i lived there until i met my greek husband and then moved to Greece. Now retired, i want to spend the rest of my life in my birth country, willingly renouncing my dual citizenship to get Laotian nationality .I have studied Visual and Fine Arts at the Aristotle's University of Thessaloniki ( Greece), Digital Cultural and Museum Management at the Kapodistrio University of Athens as well Human Resources and Organisation of the State. I speak fluently French, English, Greek and some Spanish. I want to live in Laos to offer my expertises and help communities to develop. Now that you know my profile, i will be thankful for guiding me on the  necessary procedures on this matter.

You may want to consult an immigration lawyer based in Vientiane.

There are such firms here who specialize in such applications but it is a time consuming process.

Have you done any research into your Lao mothers' family?  Any information on your ties to Laos will help.

A Google search will find lawyers for you. There is a list here on ng the forum, so take the time to check out other posts here too.
