Holiday in Lahore What Clothes to Bring

Zeke

I was active on this platform when living in Saudi Arabia a few years ago, I am glad to see it is still alive and well :)  I am an older American male.

I am visiting Lahore in a few weeks on holiday, will be staying with a friend.  I want to be respectful of the dress code, most of my western clothes are bright color long and short sleeve shirts and jeans.

So I am wondering if I should get a shalwar Kameez to wear when getting off the plane at least. or ???

Thanks in advance for your advice

Jim

Hi,
Hope you have a safe stay in Lahore. As for clothing, heck no need to get into the S & K! Jeans, T's & Shirts go very well during your sojourn in Lahore.ðŸ‘

Hello Jim

I hope you enjoy the stay, wearing ethnic dresses in Pakistan will be a good idea, but not necessary, western dress go well in Pakistan. You can wear bright colored t-shirts and jeans.

Foreign tourists in Lahore - Seems long trousers and a casual shirt works fine

Hey Jim, that is very thoughtful of you.

I think your usual wardrobe you mentioned should be fine.

It becomes a sensitive in case of ladies wearing revealing clothes or short skirts.

if you are travelling upcountry into mountains or tribal areas, then I would recommend to consider the local dress code Shalward Kameez. Suburban towns and country side people appreciate the gesture and it also helps to avoid attracting unnecessary attention.

Bon voyage
