Renew automobile registration for inherited car

Randy G

Hi all,

My father passed away last year and I inherited two cars from him.  The registration on both has lapsed since I was out of the country and did not realize they had to be paid.  I am currently in Manila.  Can anyone walk me through what I need to do to get the cars registered again?  I have the certificates of registration for both.  Would I have to get the cars transferred into my name first or can I go pay for the registration still under his name?

Thanks,

Randy

My deceased fiancee is on my  car registration. LTO guy said publish the death in a legal publication, obtain a notarized release from all heirs, and get a certified true copy of the death certificate.

Take the release, a copy of the legal notice, a copy of the death certificate and the LTO ownership papers for review. Furtheermore, you ill need an emissions test valid in the previous 30 days to process as well.
