    G'day everyone,  my name's Mick,, I am fighting for answers & thought maybe you guys can help... breif; 48yo from mid north coast,,  NSW. suffer Multiple Sclerosis. single, no kids. Want 1 month holiday Vietnam end of 2024.
I have been looking at returning for a holiday at end of 2024, but I have MS and use a walking stick or walker(sometimes) to get about.  I have been trying to find a girlfriend type/ really just someone to help me with my visit to Vietnam.  I was planning to get an AirBnB and needed someone to help me with setting up my stay, my balance/walking is pretty shit, I can get around but I'm slow. I am at the point of cancelling my trip but thought maybe ask you guys if there's an answer.

Where in VN will you be visiting?

When you say you need "...someone to help me with setting up my stay...", do you mean with luggage from airport to the AirBnB, or with the booking of the unit?

Hopefully you'll get some replies from our members. Lots of friendly folk here on the forum.

Unfortunately, since you've specified a gender (girlfriend) this will probably be considered a personals ad by Admin, something not allowed on this site.

You can take out a free classified ad for a healthcare assistant, which might work if you are willing to be upfront about the renumeration you plan to give.

We often get similar inquiries basically looking for a companion without compensation other than the poster's company, room & board.

I personally think your best bet would be to create a profile on the Vietnam Cupid website and specify the type of relationship you want.

Be as honest as you've been here and make it clear whether or not you intend to pay for assistance.

I share some of your mobility issues due to peripheral neuropathy. My legs are basically like jello. Last year when I visited Da Nang, I said screw it and ordered an electric wheelchair. The price was half of what I'd pay in the States and it was delivered right to my hotel. Of course, my Vietnamese neighbors were more than accommodating, helping with accessibility as much as they could, always giving me the right-of-way. Nobody in Vietnam ever ran over a man in a wheelchair, right? And it sure beats wobbling down the street with a cane or crutches. If you're interested,let me know and I'll hook you up with my vendor.

So, more of a "My Girl Friday" than that of a , with benefits, girlfriend?

I'm thinking that a local travel agency might also be able to match you up with a hired guide for the duration of your trip. Negotiate with them on a daily vs weekly/monthly rate, explaining specifically your requirements.

Who knows? After a couple of days here you might be confident enough to go it alone for a 3 or 4 day jaunt, giving "Friday" a couple of days off.

I just want to be clear about what I previously said:

I (and other forum members, I'm sure) can probably connect Spurry76 with Vietnamese people (drivers or other individuals) who would be happy to have a job as he describes it.

I just don't know anyone who wants to do it for free...
