If expat.com has helped you, please help by returning the favour

Aidan in HCMC
Many, many people have visited expat.com for advice, recommendations, and information regarding their potential expat endeavours.
The team leaders, experts, advisors and members (like me) happily and freely offer whatever assistance we can. None of the aforementioned persons were born with the knowledge we provide. We had to learn it, and by sharing our experiences we hopefully make the expat road for people a little smoother.
We learned these things not just through experience, but also by discussions with other expats/tourists/travellers who report back to the forum.

I, for one, can state unequivocally that it is greatly appreciated when people report back to the forum how the knowledge they have gained here has helped them, or especially if it has hindered them.

Posting and then ghosting helps nobody. Feedback makes us all the better.

Yep, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø has helped me a great deal. Now that we are living here full time committed in VN. I continue to visit here. Where I can be of help to others, I will share my experiences too. Thanks everyone for the added enlightenments.

This has helped me to learn more about censorship ... the censors here are tough!

Agreed Mateo, but please do not feel that you, or anyone else, has been the focus of any moderators attention.

MANY of us, from new(ish) members on up, have had our comments moderated (so don't think you're all that special LOL). Though slightly (and temporarily) ego bruising, it is for the better IMVHO.

Loose lips sink ships, and public discussion forums.

I encourage all members to report any post which is felt to be in contravention of the forums rules (eg. abusive/bullying, racist, religious discussions etc). Your report will be forwarded to a moderator for a final decision.

It's okay to run a tight ship.

Chin up.

:)

@Aidan in HCMC Got it ... but my comment is more directed at all the photos that have been disallowed ... imho due to the censors not understanding Vietnam ... if they had locally-based censors ... they would understand why certain photos are VERY Vietnamese ... just one man's opinion ... and btw ... I am a professional photographer/editor/author/radio-TV broadcaster/instructor since early 1990s ... Syracuse University trained ... graduate level ... for what it's worth ... but appreciate your feedback much.

Maybe you came up against a size limit such as GMail imposes.  Did you try uploading one or two at a time?

I did not. I went for the full 18 at once.

Thank you for the suggestion, sir. I'll try later today and report back.

I wanted to mention how helpful expat.com has been especially around visas. I peruse mostly the Cambodia forum but I do show up here every so often. Thanks for the help expat.com. I'm living for a bit in Siem Reap Cambodia but I got my retirement extension and I also started researching apartments being offered here before I realized I was going to be traveling around both Cambodia and Vietnam this year. I get to go back to Vietnam late December and I'll be sure to check the e-visa requirements then right here

Thanks to all expat.com!
