Background Check

tintinmiami2013

All,

Some jobs in Vietnam require a background check from your respective country.

Will they accept a US state background check?  OR is it better to get a FBI background check?

Thanks.

It usually means a Criminal Record (clean). Seem to recall these are from the State level in the USA, Hampshire Police for the WHOLE of the UK, RCMP for Canada.

They have to be countersigned by the nearest embassy/consul of the issuing in VietNam.

Occasionally, you have to get the same from VN authorities. One comes from the local Cong An office (misdemeanour/administrative) and Justice Ministry (felony-court imposed).

Misdemeanour/administrative are purged on the January 1st occurring one whole year after the offence.

Don't give the VN gov folks a FBI background check in less your employer specifically has requested it, a local from your State is all that's needed. People keep doing it and before long that's all they will accept. Happened in Korea in 2011. Try and wait as long as you can before you request it. If it's over 6 month old they won't accept it. In addition you might want to get two sets of fingerprint cards from the same source as back-up documentation.

If you are talking about education background or work experiments, Vietnamese companies prefer US background check.
