Declaring over 7000 usd

if one brings more than 7000 usd into the country one has to declare with customs, right!
nobody yet has reported actual experience declaring over 7000 usd and I am most curious to hear about that:
what was your actual experience declaring the money, specially at HCMC airport? Anyone?

That is a very good question. I would be interested to know as well. I have a bank account with Citi Bank in VN and in the USA, so I can transfer USD for free, but I am always curious when I go through the airport.

Is the procedure different than declaring over USD 5k when leaving the country?
