Newbie on the Guadeloupe forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country,
or to tell us more on your expat projects in Guadeloupe if you are planning to move there.

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Hello and Happy New Year to you all! My name is Sophie and I am French and American.i lived in Paris the first half of my life, and I’ve been living in Florida for the second half. I am relocating to Guadeloupe in the summer. I am planning on getting a place in St. Francois, as I’ve been there several times (i’m a scuba diver) but I am curious about life in Le Gosier: I gathered from this site that it seems to have more of an English-speaking community (but more traffic!). If anyone who is familiar with both places has any input, I’d love to get your perspective. Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hopefully meet some of you in the near future!

Hi,

we are a German family with a 14year old boy. We lived in the US for 19 years and   are in the process to move to Guadeloupe. My question is about schools. He will be in 9th grade after the summer. He speaks German and English fluently. Starting to learn French. Which schools or area is best for ²ÝÁñÉçÇø kids which still need to learn the language in school? Would love to hear from families which had similar aged kids when moved to beautiful Guadeloupe. German or English/US ;-)

Best,Timo
