Christmas events in Panama?

CMichael

Hey everybody,

I'm always looking for new things to do for the holidays. Last year we just stayed home. So...this year I'm wondering what others are doing for the holidays here in Panama. I know that in Casco Viejo they're having a new candle/caroling event on the 3rd, and I believe there's going to be a Christmas Villas thing going on at Cinta Costera.

Anything else?

Are there any neighborhoods that are known for being very lit up during the holidays?

In the States, no matter where I lived, even as far as Anchroage, Alaska, there was always a neighborhood that was known for being very decorative. There's got to be something like that here.

What do you guys do for the holidays?

We live in the mountains in a very small community (15 kids), so it is a bit like a normal day except a little more laid back, no cutting rice, not much work, but there is a really nice Christmas party for the kids. Everybody participates with setting up the small decorated tree and other hand made decorations, skits for children and adults, lots of food, gifts for the kids and then everyone just sits around and enjoys each other until about 8pm or so then everyone heads to their homes into the dark with their flashlights.

What mountains if I may ask?

Thanks

Merry Christmas

Actually, we are originally from California and so it's difficult to say that these are mountains - they are actually good sized hills, just south of Las Tablas, Los Santos. The hills are about 2000 feet or so. The hill we live on doesn't have a name but it isn't far from Cerro Canajagua.

Feliz Navidad a usted, tambien...

Is it really a lot cheaper living there?  What do you like about it?

I think that this should be under a different subject, so I'll start a new thread....
