Belgian nationality for an Indian citizen

Rohit45

Hello Members,

Best wishes for the new year in advance.

I have a question which was not mentioned anywhere on this forum, perhaps it was not important or not discussed before.

I have applied for Belgian nationality after working for 7 yrs in Belgium and the process was smooth. Thx to all the help and information shared on this forum.

However, I now realize that I have a savings account in India which is used for my transactions there and it was not declared in Belgium.

Can this pose a problem in obtaining a nationality ?

The reason being the account was not declared and it was not converted to NRO. As the account is not used frequently it completely skipped my mind.

Just to conclude that everything that I have in the account is legit :) but just that it is an Indian savings account.

Do I need to take any actions now or can I convert that account to an NRO account post receiving my nationality.

Awaiting your feedback.

Thx.

Ro.

Happy New Year,

Your foreign incomes or saving accounts only consider with taxation offices not to national registration.

There is no taxation for foreign accounts in Belgium . However as a resident in Belgium you should  declare them via  nbb dot be.

Good luck.
