Mobile connectivity in TRNC

I thought I would share this in case anyone is visiting or moving to TRNC.

Roaming on the Vodafone network (I arrived with a Spanish Vodafone SIM) worked seamlessly. The network was treated as roaming in T眉rkiye.

I tried an eSIM that supports Vodafone T眉rkiye and it does not work. When I was near the border, it picked up the Epic network a bit, but couldn鈥檛 connect once we got further from the border.

You can get a travel SIM through Telsim (now owned by Vodafone) for cheap, but you need to register your phone鈥檚 IMEI after 90 days. This needs to be done at the government office in Lefko艧a and was 225TL for registration and 4,200TL for duties on an iPhone 12 Max Pro.

I鈥檓 returning to Spain for a few months before coming back later this summer. If anyone wants me to test roaming through another network, let me know.
