Electricity options

phildraper

Does the electric company in Cyprus have differing tariffs like in the UK with economy 7 green energy etc? I only found one company so I presume there is no competition?

And yeah you are correct there is no competition here Eac have a monopoly ... And it will be a few years before any serious competitor can take the bull by the horns and offer competitive power to the Cyprus consumer via the undesea interlink power supply from israel

@Toon Not sure it would be worth while having the code 2 as the reduction for night use is small but the increase in day counter acts it given I have a pool and will probably use AC during the day in the summer as I work from home :-/

Toon

Exactly ...I would seriously suggest a power inverter to control your pool pump.much better than the manual type of controller...it gives you more accurate control of timings water filter flows and power consumptions... I used one at my old place and they work well

Watch your electricity bills guys..  just got mine covering the two months 3rd may to 3rd July and they didn't give the Government fuel subsidy discount and the EAC claim that it's because the reading was taken Monday 10am 3rd July and the subsidies ended Friday  30th June.....

Dee56

Did you argue your case for it to be applied until 30th June and if so how did you get on?

Toon

Still in that process ..EAK pushed it back to the Ministry. Now am awaiting a response from them

adamincyprus
