For Information

Did ours end of June.... easy..this is what you needed to take with you ....  application form each.

passports and copies

MEU1 / MEU3 and copies

..and a copy of your appointment email ....as we found we weren't on the list and had to prove the appointment  That's all oh and €30 each... In and out in under 15 mins

Be aware though

Make sure when you get there that you are in the list and tell them you are only there to exchange as everybody who is waiting is there for all sorts of reasons

A friend of mine got their letters 4 weeks after they had already collected their new biometric cards

Toon

Ok been this morning cards after 11 weeks still not ready yet ..although they have given us our allocated  card numbers..

Just took our receipts to the dept .they never asked for any other document

There are 12 full boxes of cards awaiting collection on the reception desk  and I reckon at least a 100 in each box.

So now we wait some more ...

Toon

Called iñ this morning to immigration Paphos and yey collected our biometric cards...at last..    13 weeks from application appointment date

Toon

I also noted 15 boxes of biometric cards on the reception desk all awaiting collection .... Most were full..that's 1500 biometric cards

Toon

Just an update we got our official letters from immigration on Thursday this week  Informing us of being processed approved and available for collection ..   we collected our cards on 25th September 2025

Talk about waste of time effort and money as both arrived in pre-paid envelopes tonite same address.   No wonder there is a backlog and money wasted

Hello Mr. Toon,

Please can you tell me the email address to make an appointment to change my MEU3 to MUKW3, I am in Limassol.

Do you know roughly how long it takes to get an appointment.

Thanks

Graham

E-mail: limetiseis@police.gov.cy

Upto 3 months backlog  in Paphos don't know about limassol

graham6

Okay thanks

Drambuie

I have MEU3 and have an appointment mid March for the Biometric card I am thinking to use an agent from now as it might be less hassle.

Any suggestions as to who is more efficient and costs would be appreciated.

graham6

Hi all, e-mail address for Limassol application for appointment is "chstavrou@papd.mof.gov.cy" not limetiseis@police.gov.cy, sent to the police and they very kindly sent me above address by return

graham6

and I sent email today to new email address asking for appointment after March 4th and already got reply with appointment on March 5th at 0900, no complaints here

graham6

think there is no real need to have an agent, seems very easy to do by yourself

Toon

@graham6

It is very easy to do yourself ..make the appointment take a copy of passport a copy of the meu3 the application forms copy of the appointment email just in case they missed u in the list. And €30....

When you arrive make it known you are there to do a simple exchange

Just reading and it seems that the paper MEU3 remains valid and the biometric card is mainly to be used for traveling within Europe and simply needs updating every 10 years and is not a replacement for the paper MEU3 which remains valid indefinitely, so don't throw away the original paper MEU3

Toon

It's not got an expiry date unlike the biometric card.
