I will be moving to reading in october and am looking for a place to stay. i wont mind sharing a flat or a house...

Maybe you should post an advert in England classifieds under flat share, house share.

Definately try contacting the University/College - I believe alot of UK universities have accomodation services that either help out with halls of residence or in helping you find other students in the same position looking to share and recommending suitable properties / pre-vetted landlords.
