Am I eligible to renew my carte sejour under these circimstances?

Hello!

I've been living in France from October 2013, with scientific visa. I had two successive one year contracts in France, without a gap. My current contract ends without renewal on September 30, the same day my carte sejour/visa expires also. I'm definitely looking for a job in and outside France. I've been told that I'm eligible for p么le d'emploi r unemployment benefits, since I've two long term contracts in France.

1) Is this true? So, can I apply for unemployment benefits?
2) Can I use the fact that I'm eligible for unemployment benefits as a reason to apply for my extension of caret sejour?
3) Did anyone here have same/similar situation as mine? Would like to share how did (s)he act?

Hey!

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get unemployment benefits - after all, you did pay "cotisations" into the system while working for two years.

The issue with your CDS, however, is a whole other issue. I don't see how you could get it renewed without a job. Wish I could better inform you.
