Studying in Germany; blocked accounts, student health insurance

TominStuttgart

The site daad(dot)de/en has often been mentioned here as a reliable one providing a comprehensive overview of the rules and information for studying in Germany and a database for programs open to international students.

I now found a new site with similar information, mygermanuniversity(dot)com also in German and English, but a different presentation. Some subjects like blocked banks accounts for getting the study visa are well explained in more detail than on the DAAD site. The site seems to be reliable and objective not selling anything directly - but has a disclaimer that it offers links to a number of providers of services like blocked accounts and/or student health insurance.

Fintiba(dot)com is a commercial site providing both blocked bank accounts and student health insurance from multiple companies, so including it is always a risk of looking like spam. But it also gives a very good explanation of the rules for international students to have these services. So I don’t specifically endorse their products but think they are a good example of what is available to fulfill the legal requirements.
