thanks for the info, we are contemplating buying a cabin cruiser with at least 4 berths for me my wife & 12 year old daughter our budget is around £20k.
(not sure if its worth shipping one to Gib or buying one there? benefits of taxes etc)
our idea is to use the boat as a holiday home something where we can just go to when we have burned ourselves out at work.

Do you know if it would be possible to have the boat dry stored and when we plan to come over to use it email someone to have it dropped in the water at a rented birth?

or would it be better to buy or rent a mooring?

There are no dry storage facilities in Gib and I beleive non in the Alcaidesa marina.

Again it is not possible to buy a berth in Gib or Alcaidesa with one rather expensive exception.

Boats shipped into Gib are liable to a 12% import duty, but as a non-resident you will probably be able to avoid this.

The weather here is generally better than anywhere north of the Tyne
