Tansfer of Money to India - Suggestions

SportsMan

HI Everyone. I need to transfer some money to a India as a gift. Can anyone recommend any company or bank that won't skin you alive with charges, or the best process to do this if there is a way online? I have done the same a year or 2 back with some beureau in Mosta but the charges where crazy. I do not wish to pay some 30Euro charge for a 100 euro transfer

Thanks and appreciate any help

As I said in comment #2, it is now called Wise.

If you have REVOLUT account it's very easy and fast and very very less transaction charges.... less that 1 euro for 100 euro transfer.... I use the same to transfer money home

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding Revolut, the beneficiary (one receiving the money) must also have Revolut right? or you can tranfer from Revolut to say a bank account?

With Wise you can transfer to any bank as long as you have the details and I have found them more reliable and user friendly than Revolut who on one occasion used my UK bank to do the currency conversion instead of themselves which cost me an extra fee and also gave me a poor exchange rate. Also the Revolut name is frequently used by fraudsters trying to scam people out of money. Happened to me twice in one day when I was selling an item on Facebook Marketplace!
