Can I get Work permit without visa my home country

Hi All,

I have temporary resident card ( student) for latvia.
Can I apply for work permit of Poland?
Do I need to visit my home country to get work permit?
Do I need both temporary residence card and work permit?

Yes. I think you will definitely need work permit.

You have permit student in latvia is good you can come in poland without problem all will be good ask for work permit but the first find a job contract

My family and I are moving to Krakow after covid is over without jobs or school lined up, we were told from the Embassy to simply go to Poland and then apply for a residence permit, is that true? Can we get that without being enrolled in school or having work yet? Every job my husband interviewed for will not supply him with a work VISA so we are simply trying to get there first and then get work

Yes, you can come and be in Poland for 90 days without a visa as a US citizen. But, if you do not have a visa (school or work) when applying for residency you鈥檒l need to show proof of income, a place to stay, and there are a few other things.

I think if you鈥檙e a student you automatically get a work permit. But, I would look into it through your school. I鈥檓 sure they would be a good resource.
