Transitioning to Scotland

gdangeldth

Hey, my name is Angel and I am HOPING to move from the U.S. to Scotland. I’d love to permanently move there, but I’m unsure as to whether I need a visa, if I do, what kind of visa. How do I find/tour/rent a place since I’m here in the U.S. And to top it off, I have a large dog-is there information on restrictions regarding pets?

You will need a visa the best advice is to contact a specialist agency. renting a property with a large dog wont be easy but not impossible. look at your move. good luck

Hi again.

Welcome back to the Forum.  We've had this conversation before and nothing has changed.  As a US citizen, you definitely do need a visa (either a Tourist Visa to stay up to 90 days as a Tourist, or a Work-related visa).

I hope this helps.

Hello and welcome !

In addition to information given above. I would recommend that you read the articles of the Living in Scotland guide for expats to gather as much information as possible.

All the best
