D visa (National visa) for US citizens

Hi, my name is Raj. I am a 62 year old "retired" US citizen planning to move to Europe and slowly try and become a permanent resident. I was considering Germany, Switzerland, France, and Portugal as the options. Someone suggested Switzerland considering my means of income is 100% from investing and trading in Stock markets. I was told the capital gains taxes are much lower in Switzerland than in other countries. Can someone please let me know if there is a consulting company I can contact to get more information and also have them apply for my D visa. How much do they typically charge? Do I have to apply from the US or can I fly into Switzerland and start the process over there?
