On the other hand, Amman is tiny, and you never know whom you bump into at the next party, hike or bike ride... or whatever. If I meet anywhere this guy, will it be too bitchy to ask how the date was, if anybody helped him?

first of all ,don't go with him to his home or to an hotel , i advice you to be frankly with him and know what type of relation he want.
