Authenticating Documents

SherriO

So, who has had the experience of having your diploma authenticated for work in Kuwait? My original diploma is in the States, I'm in Jordan. I have to get a family member to forward for me and I want to give clear instructions.

It has to go through the US Dept of State in Washington DC... then through the Kuwait Embassy in DC... go to both websites and read they're processes for authentication... it's not hard, but it is annoyingly time consuming ... lol

Thank you Enigmausly. I looked it up on the US Dept. Of State website: travel.state.gov

I'll let everyone know the turnaround time for me. (We'll see if it takes longer to verify my diploma than send my "rap sheet")

Hi,
I have been through this process twice: technically three times since the U.S. Postal system lost my documents one time...

Your documents need to either be sent directly to the link I will post at the bottom OR you can make an appointment and bring them to the office yourself.
The first option will take between 6 to 8 weeks.
If you do it yourself by making an appointment and physically going to the office it will take an hour or two.
As much as a hassle as it might be, I would actually suggest going there in person.
You do not need to go through the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait.
Here's the link:

Thanks, I wish I would have known to do this when I was back in the States a couple weeks ago. I've had a couple jobs in Jordan and this never came up. The diploma is with a family member in Virginia. I'll try the office and see if someone other than myself can make an appointment and take it.

If you opt to go the in person route, you are the only one they will allow to bring it. They won't allow a family member or friend.
Good luck.........

SherriO

Well, that takes care of that! Thank you. I'll be opting for the mail.
