Once you聮re settled in Qatar, you will need to make some basic purchases, like groceries or pay bills. Hence, it is essential to know the payment methods available in your host country.

Which are the most common payment methods in Qatar? Why would you prefer some forms over others?

Does the amount of money or the type of paid services (groceries, bills, rent, etc.) determine the choice of payment methods?

Are there any apps at your disposal which make the payment process easier in Qatar?

Can certain foreign currencies be used to make payments?

Have your habits in terms of payment methods changed since moving to Qatar?

Qatari Riyal is the only currency i use in Qatar.聽 I use the dept card to pay off most of my payments. Credit card used for international transfers or buying tickets online only. All governmental procedures the same paid by ATM cards , cash is prohibited.聽 Still there are some small restaurants or garages asking for cash money but generally I am comfortable here for as the country is highly developed in this aspect.

I use mostly visa cards and debit cards very occasionally cash. Many big stores and brands accept foreign currencies. American Express cards can be accepted but not everywhere pls ask the cashier before purchasing
