Teenage Life in Yanbu

galvj3

Hello, I am interviewing for a position in YASREF later this month and am trying to get a better understanding of what life is like for a female teen. My daughter will be entering high school later this year and I am concerned how the transition may be for her. Has anyone found themselves moving to Yanbu with a female teen? I have been doing research regaarding teen life in Yanbu but can only find brief discriptions pertaining to a female teens life. Everything I have seen does state that the communtiy there is a like a close knit family. But those were statements from people that moved there at a young age, nothing from children moving there as teens. My and I understand that life for females there will require an adjustment but just wonder how difficult it may be for my daughter.

Also my daughter is a cheerleader and gymnist, she would like to continue this if possible. Is there anywhere where she can continue her training with either of those sports?

Thank you in advance!

The only suitable place for her is this school:

It is an accredited American school, and it will give her some semblance of a social life she is used to in the US, plus if there is anywhere where she can pursue her sports, it would be there.

I personally don't know much about Yanbu, so I will let those who live there give their experiences.

Lived in Yanbu for a few years, and for those curious, social life for teens is very limited. Yanbu is a nice city, but it is smaller the Jubail. Even for adults, you need to be really creative in how you spend your time. To be honest, you better hope your kids become friends with other kids who live in one of the compounds (and there are only 2 in Yanbu), unless you are living in a compound yourself.

If anything, Yanbu is best for families with kids at the elementary school level.
