Short trip to Dubai

janlewis19

Hello to all

I will be having a four night Dubai  stay in early December this year.

I am hoping that some one will be able to give me advice for market shopping

for hand bags, watches and sunglasses,

You might know of stall holders to buy from, saving me heaps of time .

Any suggestions for things to do that are off the tourist list that only a local

would know would also be fantastic.

Thank you very much

Cheers

Jan

Early December is such a good time in Dubai, it hits perfect pre travel weather — it looks like an incredible trip. For shopping in markets, Bur Dubai — Karama Market and Meena Bazaar —Just simply go there and get your shopping done especially handbags, watches, sunglasses. These are well known stores with good variety of themed and replica goods as well some great offers. Head to some Karama shops near the side streets, they are usually more understanding and have better offers.

For market shopping, check out Karama Souk in Bur Dubai. It's a bit chaotic but great for handbags, watches, and sunglasses. You’ll find tons of stalls with knockoffs that look pretty legit, just haggle hard, like start at half their asking price. I got a decent "designer" bag for around 100 AED last time. Be wary of super pushy sellers; stick to stalls where you feel comfy. Al Fahidi Street nearby also has some shops with similar stuff, but it’s hit or miss.

For off-the-beaten-path stuff, locals love chilling at Al Seef by Dubai Creek, less touristy, with cute cafes and old-school vibes. Grab a coffee and just wander. Another gem is the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s free, super chill, and you can spot flamingos if you’re lucky.
