Work Permit Dubai - Qualifications question

Jeshevie

Hi everyone,

I am from Australia and I was recently offered a position to work in Dubai as a Manager for a multinational company. I have 9 years experience and have worked several times overseas in similar organisations but it will be my first time in the Middle East. Reading through the formalities to secure a job in Dubai, it seems that one of the requirements is to have an attested Bachelor's degree. I have a Diploma Certificate in my area of expertise which can be attested, I was wondering any thoughts from people here as to whether this is enough or if I definitively need to have a Bachelors' degree to obtain the Residency/Work permit.

Thank you

Hi Jeshevie,

There is another possibility to work for the managerial position on the different visa status, for example, your position in the company is Manager but your visa would be of lower rank in order to get the visa. I had the same situation in my last company, i had an executive position but due to my degree conflict, they issued me a lower rank visa status which is kinda ok with me. See if this situation ring a bell for you then go for it otherwise you can always discuss it with your company HR.

Best of luck
