PF Says 2 Months PR Card Ready?

²ÝÁñÉçÇøUSATravels

And they're supposed to email me when its ready to be picked up.

But I've heard they dont always follow up by email as promised by the end of 2 months.

My question now is, is there a way to contact them without going physically all the way down there?

My 2 months ends in 3 weeks, "but" I do not want to wait until then to check on week #8.

I would like to travel next week on week #6 and do not want to have to return all the way back down 6 hours round trip to pick up the card.

I'm only 30 minutes now from the PF station where im supposed to get my card.

What would you guys do?

Would you tap your feet on floor for 2 more weeks hoping they send an email?

04/27/23 @²ÝÁñÉçÇøUSATravels.  Definitely not.  At the one month mark, I would have been at the PF station with my protocolo in hand and asked them politely to check on the status of my CRNM.  There's no reason not to go tomorrow, especially since Monday is a holiday.

As I've posted elsewhere, there are a lot of reasons that the promised email could go or could have gone astray, not the least being the difficulties that so many people have here with getting email addresses right.  And, since the tendency toward typos is not limited to emails, be sure to give your CRNM a quick inspection before you leave the PF office.

@abthree

Thanks for the encouragenent to go.

I will probably go first week in May.

As for my email they have, its "petfect"  (look at my honest typo).

So funny. I did not plan it.

I say this because they sent me an email to confirm my first appointment when applying last month.

What other email problems could they have if they've already put my email address in their computer accurately?

And yes I will check my new card carefully for errors. Lol.

They once mispelled my last name wrong when on my visitor's visa over 13 years ago. My first experience with Brasil.

I know the do it fast and fix things later Brasil way of life very well my friend.

But thanks for reminding me. :)

When I got my Brazilian passport shortly after my naturalization, I watched the official like a hawk when she input my name, to make sure that she didn't misspell any of it.  She didn't, but the print on the lines she was filling in was too fine to see from where I was sitting, and when I got the document, my middle name was on the line where my mother's maiden name would normally go if I had a standard Brazilian name,  rather than on the line for a second Christian name.  A passport is less important than a CRNM and never gets compared to anything else, so I just let it go.  I'll get it fixed when I renew it seven years from now, if I'm still around, traveling, and coherent.

My wife got stuck in Medford Oregon with Alaska Airlines over a nothing US passport spelling glitch, (the spelling was/is correct, the spacing was not, not matching the spacing on her ticket). They did not let her fly, at all.

²ÝÁñÉçÇøUSATravels

@rraypo

Then this is a crap airline.

With latin american names being very long sometimes I was told by American Airlines (I believe it was) that dont worry about the spaces in very long names in order to book tickets. They said that if 2 or more of the last names are combined it is fine if there are no spaces. As long as all the letters are there correctly.

With 4 names of more like 1 first and 3 last - it is an important subject to know I guess how each airline does things.

Anyway - all airlines should be required to have at least 9 name fields. 4 for first and 5 for last.

And also be able to have 8 spaces in between. There should be a minimum of about 150 characters designated for important travel docs, ids, and tickets, for the world.

This is how screwed up the world is and companies also.

Easy things to fix to avoid problems next time can be easily solved.

This is how it should be on all tickets

50 Characters for line 1 = first names

100 Characters = for line 2 = last names ---- and spaces have no bearing on travel --- if you want to use them if you have plenty of room then great. If not you can use you last name like WilsonBurgerSpringsteenBeethoven without an issue. As you can see this would easily fit on line two at only 32 characters without spaces so placing a few spaces in between would not hurt.

So far I've only used my Brazilian passport for exiting and re-entering Brazil.  If we visit a country where a Brazilian passport would be more advantageous than a US passport, even in the unlikely event that they're familiar with Brazilian naming conventions, I doubt they'll notice that my middle name is misplaced.  There are no spelling errors, and the risk is pretty minimal.

@²ÝÁñÉçÇøUSATravels Hi..You can check your card arrival status here's the link (https://servicos.dpf.gov.br/sismigra-in … mento.seam).. It will show like the attached image and make sure to change the site language to portuguese since it wont work in english.pesquisarRequerimento.seam

You need to fill a form and present it to PF agent along with your protocolo to recieve the card. If you are sending someone else, then you must make a *Procuração Pública* at the local cartório on the substitute person name and he/she has to provide the original protocol, the filled form, Procuração Pública and his/her original ID.. I recently did it in Rio.

I was told to come back in two months and they would contact me also. But when I got my card I saw it was issued two weeks after my appointment. By the way is there anyway to speed up passport control? I go to the foreigners line with my passport and PR card but every time they look at it and go somewhere for 5min+ before coming back.

I have had that happen once to me at GRU when leaving Brazil, but not for 5 minutes. The woman kept going and forth to some office for close to an hour saying my CRNM had some problem, a problem she would not tell me about or explain to me. When she finally let me go, she said I needed to go to the PF immediately upon my return as my card had a problem, which I did. The nice people at the PF in SP said there was nothing wrong with my card. To date, I have no idea what was going on, nor have I ever had another issue.

@dyantyi28 Sorry to say but PF don't accept personal PA to collect crnm. You must get it made at the local notary office.
