Spanish Language Classes

jamcadam

I was in Columbia earlier in the year for 3 months and quite enjoyed it. The main problem was being constrained by my poor Spanish language skills. I have a reasonable vocabulary but suffer the problem that whenever anyone speaks back I'm like a deer in the headlights.

I'm thinking of going to Medellin in November to take 6 weeks of classes and live at the school in private accommodation. Does anyone have any experience of this. I'm just a bit worried the classes may not be all they are described to be and the accommodation will not suit me. I'm a 62 year old Canadian so I know I'll be the oldest but that doesn't concern me too much.

Appreciate any comments based on experience.

Thanks

When i was in Manila (an area of El Poblado, Medellin) these little immersion study/live courses were mostly comprised of mid 20's to early 30's expats.

So you may want to ask what their demographics look like at these various schools before signing up.
