Interminable Delays of Starting Tram Service

The tram public-transport service being developed for Cuenca may not be operational until next year, 2020.

The city's new mayor announced a delay of up to seven months for testing the new tram system .. as reported at .. where the various reasons for a delay are stated.

According to Pedro Palacios, who is the new mayor of Cuenca, one reason for delaying the tram is that the project has not been turned over to the city .. and there is an unsettled dispute with the project contractor.

We won't set deadlines, says the mayor, although he states he would be addressing the situation immediately.
