Claim Social security fund when leaving Vietnam after work contracr

danrodri

Hi. Any experience on how to do to claim the social security fund? My company has an agent for those poor guys who leave the country and have no other thing than to resort to an agent. I've had bad experience with agents, trying to make a very good cut for hardly any work. So, if anyone knows how to do it or knows an agent that is fair and reasonable, I'm happy to hear. Thxs

Claiming your social security fund in Vietnam after your work contract ends can be done by yourself, without using on agents. Here are  a step-by-step guide to help you to known the process:

Steps to Claim Your Social Security Fund

  1. Prepare Required Documents:
  2. Your original Social Insurance (SI) book.
  3. Completed application form (Form 14-HSB).
  4. Employment termination letter.
  5. Proof of cancellation of your temporary residence card.
  6. A copy of your passport (translated into Vietnamese and notarized).
  7. Departure flight ticket (if applicable).

Submit Your Application:

Go to the local Social Insurance Agency (SIA) office in Vietnam. (Saigon or Hanoi)

Submit all the required documents. Ensure everything is complete to avoid delays.

Processing Time:

The SIA typically reviews and processes claims within 5–10 business days. If additional documents are needed, they will notify you via email or phone.

Receive Payment:

Once approved, the payment will be transferred to your designated bank account.

Tips to Avoid Agents

Direct Communication: Contact the Social Insurance Agency directly for guidance. They are usually helpful and can clarify any doubts. (most of then can speak English)

Online Resources: Some agencies provide online portals or hotlines for assistance:

Vietnam Social Security Portal: You can visit the official portal to check your social security status, submit claims, and access other services. It provides a user-friendly interface for expats and locals alike.

Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA): Their website offers information on labor and social security policies, as well as guidance on procedures.

If you still prefer an agent, look for recommendations from trusted sources then you can refer to the link below:
