Traveling father with child.

JStevenss

Soon I'll be traveling to Vietnam with my 4yo daughter, who shares my last name. My wife will join us 1 week later. Everything is in order, passports, evisa, hotels and so on. We even got a parental consent letter which is not obligatory in our country, but might be in Vietnam.

Is there anything else I need or need to be worried about? Is immigration acting  difficult about these matters?

Your greatest challenge will probably be an encounter with a hysterical Karen in the airport when your daughter needs to use the WC

I have my 2 daughters with me, and we've been here for about 2 months so far. My biggest issue is that my youngest daughter  who is 7 years old , is yearning for a friend. She misses having children her own age around her. I just wish we could get to know other expats that have children that we could meet up with occasionally in order that my daughters could get to know other children.

I "home tutor" them having been a Primary School teacher many years ago, which doesn't help, but cant afford the fees that the International school charges.

Maybe you won't have that problem if you are schooling your young daughter.

I don’t know how you’ll feel about this idea but you could invite some of the Vietnamese children in the neighborhood over for free English classes. This would give your children a chance to make friends and the parents in the neighborhood would be thrilled.

If you are traveling alone with children under the age of 15, it is important to carry their birth certificate, both the original and an English translation. While this may not always be required, it is important for immigration clearance in many countries, including Vietnam. Having these documents can help avoid any complex during your journey.

Wishing you safe travels and the best of luck!
