Wow, if you know a bank that is all that, please share which it is!

If this is for salary from a Bulgarian company, you might wish to check if they are willing to pay into an international digital bank account.

I use Wise, but don't get any incoming payments in BGN as my earnings come from elsewhere. Spending in BGN is easy as I can hold a balance in lev and withdraw lev from bankomats or use my Wise card as a debit card in shops and online. But Wise don't offer a BGN bank account to get salary paid into and so I suspect it might not be acceptable to a Bulgarian employer.

icard.com would probably be the closest thing to a Bulgarian neo bank

Credit card? High interest rate (on credit balances, I presume)? No fees?

As @janemulberry says, that narrows the options considerably... perhaps to only Harry Potter's special account at the Bank of Magical Thinking. :-)

I use Bulbank, Wise, Revolut. And I recommend them, and have a debit card for each one. But they don't meet your list of requirements, unfortunately.

@gwynj i think most banks in bg charge a fee..i am with Bulbank..and they certainly do.

That looks interesting! Thanks for sharing it.

I wonder if this would be an acceptable Bulgarian bank account to meet the D visa requirements, as it's based in Bulgaria and has links to BNB. The basic version doesn't have a fee, though like Wise using it for more than a limited number and type of transactions will incur transaction fees.

Money in by bank transfer is free so it may be suitable for the salary payment Kykers asked about, though in image frequent use for payments and transfers out could clock up fees.

@Chrisjo 1, do you have an account with them? I can't see that they accept non-EU identity documents to open an account. Those with a passport from outside the EU need to show their EU residency papers. Soooo, bummer! It's for those who already have EU citizenship or residency only.

@gwynj thanks for your reply:-)

We already have it, only don't has credit card but has debit card and rest of the list. It is On (Burgan Bank Turkey).

@janemulberry unfortunately Bulgaria is in stone age about banking, There are lots of these type of banks in Turkey.

Hi all,

To update the topic,

I found that the best option is Myfin.

Advantages;

  • I opened account without residency,
  • No monthly fee,
  • Online banking,
  • If you pay only one month upgrade, you can open EUR account and then you can switch free mode,
  • If you need transaction records etc. they can send it by mail,

Disadvantages;

  • Doesn't have branches, only online but it has agreement with Fibank to use their ATM's.
  • You can not deposit (Cash in) in all ATM's but you can withdraw almost from all ATM's.
  • After 3 months to the account opening, they asked residency. You can not use forever without residency.

    @Kykers Nice find, I see MyFin is actually a subsidiary of the Albanian Fibank in Bulgaria. BG IBAN and the free insurances that come with the Mastercard World debit cards make them interesting for me. Have to look further into.

Fibank is Bulgarian. They have banks in Albania too.
