Update--Paphos time!! We've started the process to move to Tala

londondoc

We spent some time in Paphos in February this year. In the main, it was fabulous - mesmeric, in fact. As I wrote earlier, unfortunately at the time, we got in to the clutches of an overzealous realtor and that blotted the copybook somewhat. But as with most things, stepping back, taking time and re-appraising things can be a handy measure. And so it was for us. We got back to London and spent some time cogitating over things. We are now fully committed to a move to Paphos. We've started the process and hope to be there in a few years' time. We are aiming to be in Tala in a few years and it cannot come soon enough.

We hope to be in this thriving Paphos community soon.

Best wishes to all.

We have been living in Tala, Kamares specifically for two and a half years. Very nice area and not too long to drive to most places. We used Leptos now Chesterton in Paphos opposite papantonio. They were not over zealous so you might like to contact Savvas there. We chose to rent so we  knew more when we arrived and could move easily if required

If you don't already, it might be worth subscribing to the Tala community newsletter to keep up with what's on in Tala and Paphos:

Thanks, Phil. We've agreed terms with a builder and the initial deposit has been paid. We're aimimg to exchange contracts in about 70 days or so. We instructed a very good lawyer (Eleni of Polycarpos) while in Paphos in Feb. Trouble is, the money laundering due diligence of Cy banks is pretty hectic (while justified within reasonable limits of intrusiveness) -- but we'll get over the humps in the road quite soon, hopefully. Re: the actual property-- It is a villa in Tala with a 30-month build plan-- off-plan obviously. Managed to get it direct from the builder with a 95k euros price-reduction, which was handy. Best wishes.

@telf

Yep, that's a good rate, I'm currently being offered 1.1912 from Wise or 1.1889 from Revolut.
