Moving to Cambridge with family

Zamzad

Hello all!

We are a family from Sweden, consisting of me and my wife with our two younger boys 1,5 and 4,5 years old.
I have just accepted an offer by a company in Cambridge and we are aiming to move there by the end of October.
We have never lived outside of Sweden together (I have lived in the US for some time before) and this is completelly new to us.
We are really excited, and look at this as an awesome adventure. We had the opportunity to visit Cambridge over the weekend and are so in love in it.

We are seeking likeminded families with similar situations that would like to share their experiences and perhaps connect in real life.

Thank you!

Hello,
I am from Cambridge and yes indeed it is a beautiful city with lots of pockets of interesting corners and areas to explore.
It's a shame we too are planning on moving to Spain to meet Brexit deadline.
My advise is just to relax and in a very short time you can  begin socialising and make friends starting from your children's schools.
If you are a religious, church is also a venue. There is always tea and coffee afterwards  people generally tend to reach out and offer support to newbies.
If you are a gym fanatic or exercise freak, another avenue to bump into people and go from there.
Most are generally friendly and Cambridge has lots of foreigners living there.some even have  language forums and meeting groups and language schools for children.
You are in the right place.
